Support
Email hello@bluejaycommunity.com and a person will reply within 24 hours.
If a child is in immediate danger, call 911. Bluejay is not an emergency service and we may not see this right away.
Getting into your account
Bluejay accounts sign in with an email address and password, or with Google. If you can't get in, use the “Forgot password” link on the sign-in screen. It emails you a link that signs you in and lets you set a new one. If the email doesn't arrive within a few minutes, check spam, then write to us and we'll sort it out by hand.
Membership and billing
Families join by invitation and choose a monthly or annual membership. Your membership applies to your whole household, so a second parent doesn't need one of their own.
Manage or cancel the membership with the provider that billed you. In the Bluejay app, open the account menu and choose Billing or Manage subscription. Google Play and Apple subscriptions are managed by those stores; web subscriptions are managed through Bluejay's Stripe billing portal.
Sitters never pay. If you were charged and think you shouldn't have been, email us and we'll look at the record and refund anything that was wrong.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account yourself, from inside the app: open your profile → Edit Profile, scroll to the bottom, and choose Delete my account. You'll be asked to confirm, and it cannot be undone.
If you cannot access the app, email hello@bluejaycommunity.com from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We will verify that the account is yours before completing the request.
Deleting removes your sign-in, your name, email, phone number and photos, your saved addresses and notification settings, and, for families, your children's names and birthdays. Any upcoming bookings are cancelled. Deleting Bluejay does not cancel a subscription billed by Google Play or Apple, so cancel it through the store first to prevent another charge. Past bookings and reviews stay in the records of the people you worked with, with your name removed; we can't erase their history of what happened. The privacy policy sets out what is kept and for how long.
Bookings and requests
A family asks the sitters they choose, or opens the request to their town. Sitters reply with the rate they'd want; the family confirms one. Either side can cancel, and the sooner that happens the better for everybody. If something has gone wrong close to the day, tell us and we'll help.
Applying as a sitter
Sitters apply, and we speak to every applicant before their profile is visible to families. If your application seems to have stalled, write to us. It is usually that we haven't managed to reach you yet.
Safety and reporting
You can report a member or block them from anywhere you can see them. The safety page explains what happens to a report, which kinds suspend an account immediately, and how quickly we respond.
Still stuck?
Write to hello@bluejaycommunity.com. Tell us the email address on your account and what you were trying to do, and we'll take it from there.
